L’Oréal Pure-Clay Review

IMG_3201

Hi everyone!

I’m back with a quick review. I’ve been meaning to write this review for a few months actually, but I didn’t really have the heart to do it (also I was hoping to buy some flowers to make a really beautiful display but I kept slacking haha).

In October I received the L’Oréal Pure-Clay Purify & Mattify Cleanser and Yuzu Lemon Mask from Influenster to review. At first I used the cleanser in my daily and nightly skincare routine and I used the clay mask once a week. However, after a while I readjusted to only using the cleanser at night and my normal cleanser in the morning.

The cleanser has a lovely texture. I wouldn’t say it’s a clay-to-mousse texture. It’s really just a mousse texture which is a nice middle ground between a harsher foaming face wash and a gentler gel face wash. It also has a nice clean scent albeit it can be a bit over powering. However, the cleanser really did not react well with my skin. It made my skin both really dry and really oily at the same time. This is one of the reasons why I’ve never been attracted to clay skincare products. For me, they just seem to exacerbate all my problems. My t-zone got oilier and the rest of my face got drier. It made my face both the oiliest and the driest it’s ever been. That in turn made me break out pretty badly. It took a long time to get my skin back to normal.

The yuzu lemon mask wasn’t as bad, but it wasn’t impressive either. It has a lovely scent and washes off pretty easily. However, it didn’t really wow me. I didn’t see a huge difference in pore size or skin smoothness. It’s a good addition to your mask collection if you’re into multi-masking, but I guess at the end of the day I’m just a sheet mask person.

Overall I have to give the cleanser 1/5 stars and the mask 3/5 stars for my skin type. If you don’t have skin that’s as sensitive and finicky as mine, the cleanser and mask combined are very clarifying.

I’ll see you next time,
Jamu
